Partner, friend, brother, son - Owen Thomas Lightly passed away in 2014. During the last year of his life, despite pain and illness, he roughly recorded a collection of demos sketching out songs for a project which he called Desolation Sound. In the Autumn after he died, we went to Desolation Sound on the BC coast and spread his ashes in its secret holdings of islets and coves.

To my beloved Owen: I love you. May you rest in perfect peace and may you know that you are loved. All the efforts of making of this vinyl is for you.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Owen’s dear friend, Jesse Brint, who gave his heart to the vision of making this vinyl. It takes a courageous spirit to persevere through the pain of loss with the intention to share the love. Thank you to Tanner Wilson, Jeff Bryan, and Adam McGhie for your care and attention. Thank you thank you thank you friends, loved ones and family for your undying love. It takes all of us to hold this loss. We are stronger together. May we be there for each other through the darkness and the joyful. May this music both rip open our hearts, and mend them back together. xo
